Thorpe farm has been in the Mount family for several generations, farming the surrounding land. Be it selling from the field to the farm gate and now to selling from roots at Thorpe farm. We have been continuously diversifying to make sure we are bringing the best of the local area and what it offers.

Peter(dad) Mount took over from his father in 1968, where he continued to milk the the cows twice daily and work the land. As times changed so did the farm and the dairy cows were replaced with horses and fully equipped livery yard. More was being produced on the arable side of the business with a wide range of vegetables which were sold from the farm gate along with hay, haulage and straw.

Returning back to my roots after studying at agricultural college and working overseas I realised it was time for me to settle on the farm and become established within the community and this where roots was then born in 1998.....
